Anyway any prisoners that do help fight fires are all volunteers and Don’t make me gibbs slap you shirt. They don’t force them. It would be stupid to do that. They could put others at risk. They guys are vetted and only the ones that are in good standing are chosen. Many want to help because it’s their hometowns that are affected. It gives them skills, self-esteem, a sense of purpose, teaches them to work together, and gives them a chance to prove themselves as worthy humans. Most are close to being getting out and joining society.
