Me and my husband went out for dinner with another couple. Our table was on an outside terrace with a drinks area next to it. Our table backed onto the drinks area and I was sat on one side which backed onto the drinks area. There was a barrier (just a roped barrier) stopping people from congregating too close to our table. As the bar got busier and busier people started to ignore this and sitting on the back on the bench we were sat on and also sat on my brand new coat which was placed there. Staff asked them to move which helped but they came back and did the same again.
So I’m standing in the area in front of the doors where there aren’t any seats and I’m holding on the support rail. The area is pretty full of people but I can still look around. One of the people standing in front of me is this middle age man, he’s holding onto one of the handles as well. As we’re standing there riding the train I’m just looking around at stuff trying not to make awkward eye contact with all the other commuters standing within a foot of me. So at one point I look down and I just happen to see the middle aged guys other hand and I noticed that it’s positioned sort of awkwardly. Instead of his palm facing himself, like how it would naturally hang, his palm was facing backwards. I didn’t think anything bad I just thought it was a strange way to position your hand.
As I continue to look around I start to notice this guys hand again. I keep thinking my eyes are playing tricks on me but I look down and it looks like he’s touching one of the girls behind and side and waist. I look up and look at his face and but he’s giving no indicators that he’s being a perv so I start to second guess myself. I just assume it because space is tight on the packed shifting train. The girl also isn’t reacting to being touched and the guy isn’t touching her constantly so I pass it off. I don’t know how long he was doing it but we were on the train for maybe 10 minutes before I noticed. My stop was coming up and I got off fairly soon after this all played out in front of me.
I have replayed that moment so many times since that day almost 20 years ago and I regret not doing something. That guy knew what he was doing. It’s the whole reason his hand was facing awkwardly. He was using the fact that when we’re on a crammed train we expect things to be bumping into us all over our body. Be on guard on packed trains girls. I’m sorry I didn’t trust my gut and stop him that day, but the least I can do is make you aware of those situations and people like that.
Quick to the point here, I was very nervous about my upcoming interview and studying up on the company background and history during the flight . The flight attendant during that flight quit till five my body language and was very sweet and attentive . Not to mention a very attractive brunette with a gorgeous body that went along with her amazing personality and intellect, (which only made me more nervous). We shared some interesting stories about travel, life along with some casual flirting during the first few hours of the five hour flight.
My new coat ended up on the floor. I was not chuffed and by this point was probably showing it as i kept turning to look at who was sitting g right behind me on the back of my seat. Next thing I know I had a glass of prosecco thrown in my face and I instinctively lunged for whoever I thought had done it. Staff came over and things were calmed down and the drinkers removed from the bar but then we were also asked to leave. Was a bit suprised by this as we didnt throw the first punch (or drink).
