Backing vocals clean and brought forward a Halloween witch this grandma can drive a stick shirt, precise tonal spacing, my only slight quibbles might be what I hear as the backing off of the bass range and amplitude, and the relative dismissal of Ringo’s kit. Different than the original, and the 2008 remix, but extremely enjoyable. Engineers more or less built the mixes and turned the knobs at the time, not the Beatles. Norman Smith, Geoff Emerick, and Ken Scott were the most frequently used guys for that purpose. So why not is another interpretation using current technical advances? These digital remixes are not the definitive versions. If you don’t like them, only listen to the originals.
This isn’t just remastered. Yes, it’s a remix with Halloween witch this grandma can drive a stick shirt. Paul’s vocals, while similar, are from previous or post tracks. His vocals though are fantastic as usual. Lennon said he should have sung it. I love Paul but John would have been better for this one. I just hope there is no break between the song medleys on side two that flowed into each other on the original album. Always annoyed me on the cd. The tracks from the album were much more captivating. There were more frenzy and naturalness in the original version. This sounded contrived, over-rehearsed and Paul’s missed notes and off-putting hoarseness ruined it. Waste of time.
